Halo
Usage limits
Halo is free during Preview. Reasonable usage limits keep it fast for everyone.
Halo is free during Preview while we expand coverage and improve the product. The limits below keep the service fast for people using it interactively and stop it being used as a bulk automation backend. Normal use should almost never reach them.
| Limit | Preview value |
|---|---|
| Requests per account | 100 in any rolling 5 hours |
| Short bursts | 12 in any rolling minute |
| At the same time | 3 requests in flight |
Limits roll: requests count against the window for 5 hours after you make them, so capacity frees up gradually rather than at a fixed reset time. Limits are per account, so a shared office network does not count against you.
When you reach a limit Halo tells you how long to wait. Commands you run directly
with $ do not use the service and are never limited.
Limits may change during Preview as we learn how people use Halo.
